Quality Issues

PMETB have published Quality Assurance documents, retaling to Quality Standards for Training Programmes, Deaneries and Curricula. These were published in late 2008, and are likely to remain unchanged.

The Royal College of Psychiatrists has prepared a matrix, which interprets these Standards for Psychiatry, applying many of the speciality specific standards that were in operation prior to the existence of PMETB. The resulting document lists the contributions that Chief Executives, Directors of Medical Education, Tutors, Trainers and Trainees make to the Standards. It also suggests outcome measures that can be used to demonstrate that a Speciality Programme or Trust is meeting the Standards

The document is in the form of an Excel Spreadsheet. In its unfiltered form, all standards for all roles are visible. By using the Excel "filter" different versions can be prepared which containjust the standards and responsibilites for one of more roles

The master PMETB documents and the College Spreadsheet are all available on this page, as are prepared pdf versions of the standards for Tutors, Educational supervisors and Trainees. The pdf has has been prepared in a format that can be used as an audit tool
